  1. I don't have a sense of smell and never did. I get along just fine without it. I am 52 years old.

    1. Yes but there is a difference between learning to live without a sense of smell at a very early age and learning to live without a sense of smell after at least 50-60+ years of using it and relying on it just as much as your other senses. Anyone would be thrown off in a major way just with the loss of smell alone. Then throw in the change in mental ability and comprehension that comes with Dementia.
