  3. About support therapy in Parkinson disease, the research article bellow shows that minidoses of the nutraceutical Alpha Lipoic Acid associated to the small doses of Acetyl L Carnitine (ALCAR) can helps in neuroprotection. In the article with the title :"Combined Alpha Lipoic Acid and Acetyl-L-Carnitine Exerts Efficient Preventative Effects in a Cellular Model of Parkinson’s Disease",Journal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine(2010),authors Zhang and colleagues,we can read :
"Mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative damage are highly involved in the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease. The present study examined the preventative effects of two mitochondrial antioxidant /nutrients,Alpha Lipoic Acid and Acetyl-L-Carnitine(ALCAR) in cellular model of parkinson’s disease." The authors concluded that Lipoic Acid (in microdoses) and ALCAR works in synergistic way, with a high efficacy, even in lower concentrations than they did individually. Both in minidoses effectively protected against mitochondrial dysfunction , oxidative damage and accumulation of alpha synuclein" (PD biomarker). But only under Physician prescription and in mindoses made in compounding pharmacies.
