Donepezil: When to Start It, When to Stop It

MEDICATION VIDEO:

Donepezil (brand-name: Aricept®) boosts memory and cognition in dementia. According to Consumer Reports, it helps some of the people some of the time. However, like with all medicine, there are side effects and costs. When is it best to start it? When is it best to stop it? Watch this informative video (and always ask your doctor).

  1. Citing the Consumer Reports as done is at best misleading. The referenced study clearly shows that the percentage of people experiencing minimal, moderate, or marked worsening well exceeded the percentage experiencing minimal, moderate or marked improvement; 40% worse to 26% better at the 5 mg dose, and 31 to 24 at 10 mg.
