What We Do

What We Do

DIGNITY

We are dedicated to help preserve the dignity of patients and caregivers who are struggling with Alzheimer’s and related dementias.

NEWS

We begin by providing weekly news. Alzheimer’s affects patients, caregivers and health professionals in many ways over many years. Alzheimer’s Weekly is an essential source of regular updates, information and education on the latest in treatment, research, caregiving and prevention.

RESEARCH

We read through mounds of data for you. The internet receives a new English article every 10 minutes on Alzheimer’s, around the clock. We boil it all down to a manageable weekly digest.

DOCTOR-REVIEWS

Dr. Ancselovits, a geriatrician for over two decades, meticulously reviews every article that contains health information. His practical experience with Alzheimer’s ensures the integrity of what you see on this site.

ASK ANN

Ann Julian is a licensed, experienced social worker who has a lot of helpful answers based on her years of traveling the Alzheimer’s road alongside patients and caregivers. She answers questions at no charge on her ever-growing “Ask Ann” message board.

SUPPORT GROUPS

People often resist or cannot avail themselves of the important advantages of a support group. Alzheimer’s Weekly organizes groups on-site. This allows a person to see what they are joining in advance. It helps people with memory difficulties interact on a message board where they can always go back and review any thread of conversation. It lets people participate at home, at any hour of night or day.

DISCUSSIONS

Sometimes a person needs a totally informal place to go and talk. The DISCUSSIONS board is a community of people who are going through similar experiences. It is a place for informal questions, sharing personal advice and tips, or just unloading anything that comes to mind.

LINKS

Type “Alzheimer’s” into Google and you get about 3 million hits. As we write articles and find the best of what is out there, we continuously build an organized tree of helpful links that save you time and energy. Access it from the LINKS option at the top of any page.

A SERIOUS SITE WITH A SERIOUS THOUGHT

Every week starts with a thoughtful, tasteful, artfully designed “Thought of the Week” written over an accompanying image. People find that in its own small way, it helps add a bit of energy and meaning in their struggles.

LIBRARY OF HUNDREDS OF ARTICLES

Every week brings new additions to the NEWS ARTICLES library. Articles are organized by subject, with descriptive titles and quick summaries. Everything is indexed in our SEARCH engine, giving you quick access to the best information on any Alzheimer’s subject.

FREE NEWSLETTER

Each week, a free newsletter is sent by email to anyone who subscribes. The newsletter includes the week’s three top news articles, an important question that Ann answers, and the Thought of the Week. It is tastefully put together with short summaries and informative photos. There is no charge or obligation.

THIS IS ALL WE DO

We welcome your suggestions regarding how else we can help. We intend to keep adding features and services to help the Alzheimer’s community, until such time that a cure is found, and this site is no longer needed. We hope and pray the day comes soon.
