 ASK NURSE DINA

A caregiver asks:

Dear Nurse Dina,
Have you heard stories on coconut oil, fish oil and cod liver oil from dementia families?

Click here to go to Dina's board My husband was diagnosed with dementia about 1 year ago.

I received a case study by a Dr. Mary Newport on her husband. She concluded that ketone bodies (found in coconut oil) had been very helpful in helping her husband. She saw significant results in 36 days. She is also recommending fish oil and cod liver oil. She researched an article by Dr. Richard Veech of the National Institutes of Health and he is doing research on this very thing.

I started my husband on coconut oil and am going to start buying more of our daily food at health food stores that have less additives. Have you had any similar stories from dementia families?
